Parent support & starting points

You don’t have to figure it all out alone.

When you are learning alongside your child, it can be hard to know who to ask or where to begin. We know that feeling because we have lived it too.

This is a calm starting place: a little family reassurance, small ideas to explore at your own pace, and links to trusted places for specialist support when you need more than a box.

A gentle place to start

Three small steps. No pressure to get them perfect.

These are family-led prompts for reflection and exploration, not a clinical plan or professional advice.

01

Start with what you notice

Jot down the moments, places, sounds, textures or changes that feel easier or harder. You do not need perfect words to begin noticing patterns.

02

Try one tiny thing

A quieter corner, an extra minute, a familiar object or a different texture can be a useful thing to explore. There is no pressure to find a single answer.

03

Ask for the right support

When you want guidance beyond family experience, reaching out to your GP, school, local authority, autism team or a trusted specialist charity can be a sensible next step.

Why this matters to us

We’ve been the family asking, “Where do we go from here?”

Bella’s Sensory Box is rooted in our real experience as a family. We understand that parents and carers often want someone to say, “I hear you,” before being handed a long list of things to do.

We will share honest, everyday reflections and playful ways to explore sensory experiences. When you need expert, local, education, health or rights-based help, we will always encourage you to use the relevant professional services and specialist organisations.
